Public Information Notice 06 - Badsell Road Diversion Route Update
Maidstone Road (B2160) near the Esso petrol station has reopened following the emergency water main closure. The existing Badsell Road diversion route will remain in place until the road reopens. Weather permitting, we anticipate reopening by the end of the working day on Friday 30 October. Residents can continue to access Mascalls Park via Maidstone Road (B2160). Any changes to these arrangements will be communicated in advance.
Public Information Notice 05 - Update on Weekend Works, 24th-25th October 2026
Weekend surfacing works scheduled for 24–25 October have been postponed due to unforeseen delays to BT’s utility diversion works and poor weather conditions. The Badsell Road closure will remain in place as the road is not safe to reopen to vehicles or pedestrians. Please continue to follow the signed diversion route.
October 2026 Update: Public Information Notice 04 – Emergency Change to Badsell Road Diversion Route
Due to an emergency water main leak, Maidstone Road near the Esso petrol station and Foresters Arms pub is closed, and the Badsell Road diversion route has been changed to use the A21 and A228. Please follow the updated diversion signs. We aim to revert to the original diversion routes as soon as Maidstone Road reopens, and will provide a further update once the repair timescale is confirmed.
October 2026 Update: Public Information Notice 03 – Weekend Surfacing Works, 24th–25th October
Further information for residents about the planned weekend surfacing works as part of the current Badsell Road closure on Saturday 24th to Sunday 25th October. This provides advance warning of the working hours and potential noise during surfacing works, while explaining how completing the works during the existing closure will help minimise further disruption as the scheme progresses.

An update on construction progress and the next stages of the scheme, including progress with site preparation, improvements to temporary traffic management, upcoming UKPN diversion works and the key dates for works taking place throughout October, including the planned Badsell Road closure from Monday 19th to Friday 30th October 2026.
September 2026 Update: Public Information Notice 01 – Badsell Road Temporary Closure
Advance notice of the temporary closure of Badsell Road between Maidstone Road and Morgan Way from Monday 19th to Friday 30th October 2026. The closure is required to enable essential BT diversion works, with the timing planned during the October school half-term to help minimise disruption.
August 2026 Update: Works Get Underway in September
The Badsell Road Improvement Scheme is moving into its construction phase, with initial pre-commencement activities starting in September before the main works get underway. This first newsletter introduces the scheme, explains the improvements planned and sets out how we’ll keep stakeholders updated as construction progresses.
